About your role:
We’re looking for a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager who will act as a business partner in the management of HSE risks and all associated compliance obligations. You’ll provide direct line management to a team of HSE professionals, and will deliver against the HSE strategy and associated business unit plan. You’ll record incidents, events, and near misses accurately in the Group HSE reporting tool and ensure thorough investigations. You’ll oversee and report on HSE performance, providing updates to Business Unit leadership and Group HSE as required. Finally, you’ll promote a safety culture within the business that aligns with company values and customer expectations.
Here's what we’re looking for:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in HSE roles and/or operational roles with a high degree of HSE responsibility and accountability.
- As a minimum, NEBOSH Certificate in Health & Safety, or similar and equivalent level qualification. Preference to candidates with NEBOSH Diploma in Health & Safety, or similar and equivalent level qualification such as NVQ or NCRQ.
- It is desirable for candidates to have chartered IOSH status or full membership of IIRSM or IEMA (or above), or similar chartered status from a science / engineering related professional body.
- Demonstrable experience of successfully managing Health, Safety and Environmental risks.
- Knowledge and experience of HSE practices, legislative requirements, management systems and culture models.
- Demonstrable prior experience of leading and managing teams.
- Experience of working in the energy industry is preferred
- Knowledge and capability to understand Gas / Electrical / Engineering / Mechanical subjects
- Strong interpersonal, influencing and relationship management skills. Able to inspire and lead others without line management authority.
